Today we watched the trailer for the original Blade Runner movie from 1982, set in the dystopian world of 2019, followed by the trailer for Blade Runner 2049. Whereas the original Blade Runner, based on Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, was directed by Ridley Scott, the new Blade Runner was directed by the young French-Canadian superstar Denis Villeneuve. Both movies feature Harrison Ford, but the star of the new one is Ryan Gosling.In football news, Germany got a surprise victory over Spain in the world Under-21 championship. Germany's senior team also won the Confederations Cup, beating Chile in the final.
